Put on a chair, and don’t miss any crumbs from the interview with the Association President! The “head secretary,” who was adopted when she was a cat, in 2013, returned in 2017. She couldn’t stand the newborn baby coming home.

Shade is one of about 260 felines that live in drop point. Five star facilities where they live together in harmony. Grassy places, clean and bright, full of plants, especially trees, and in which there are many places to rest.

Fog during hot weather

“This summer, with the hot weather, we spray-cooled them. We protected the enclosures from the light with tents and rails. They held up really well!”, highlights Evelyn Casimir MilanPresident since 2006 of this assembly installed in the pavilion Montigny-lès-Cormeilles (Val d’Oise).

Passionate and dedicated to the cause of cats, the volunteer leader knows the name, history, character, and status of each of her residents.

Created by Lillian Krauskoffand the Assembly, which was proclaimed in the Argenteuil sub-county on March 18, 1992, is a member of National Animal Defense Federation (The largest French animal protection network).

Collect (thanks to trapping by volunteers) stray cats or litter. Dispensary, quarantine areas: the association works in a very professional manner, without losing the human aspect and love for animals.

Seven employees

A real company of seven employees. Washing machines running at full speed: ten 10 kg machines every day!

The worms are dewormed, cared for, sterilized, cut up or tattooed, and kept on site or placed in foster families (one hundred families), freeing up places and socializing the animal for adoption.

Some go back to where they live. They are “free” cats who live under the protection of volunteers (about a hundred), who feed and watch them. The most fragile, those who are sometimes seriously ill (14 hours of care are needed every day), live peacefully at Point de Chute. Like every summer since 2020, the number of kittens is increasing.

“It’s disastrous!” Evelyn Casimir Milan recognizes. There are more and more deliveries. We have many who came from Argenteuil and arrived here in dire straits. On average, 250 sterilizations are performed annually. Some municipalities are more sensitive than others to the issue of feral cats. We can do awareness campaigns. »

Litter multiplication is the result of first confinement. “We will pay for it for years to come,” confirms Evelyn Casimir Milan. Veterinarians almost no longer practice spaying.

The association, which receives 1,500 cats a year, sterilizes 800 of them, and last year, 700 animals were adopted, including 400 adults. Adopters come from all over Ile-de-France and even from the provinces. “Despite 100 host families, we are full!” concludes the president. Adopters are welcome!

Core Volunteers

The association survives thanks to a few hundred volunteers. Those in the field feed and supervise the cats and those who come to the assembly: daily cleaning, in the morning, of the cat’s enclosures. Without forgetting the hugs for those who want it!

Main works carried out

Even if the association collected cats from all over the department, only from cities Montigny-lès-Cormeilles, Saint-Prix and Garges-lès-Gonesse Support the structure that lives on donations. Fortunately, the free cat school was able to take advantage of state aid. 144,000 euros as part of the resuscitation plan, 25,000 euros as sterilization assistance, and 44,000 euros as part of the French 2 resuscitation plan.

state donations

Thus, the association has managed to grow in recent months. Build a room for the adoptees, so they can identify which kitten or cat can run. Realize a real kitchen, where daily meals are prepared with the necessary care. Rework the roof and frame. That wasn’t a luxury according to the president, who is finally planning to build a new reception venue and finalize the Vmc.

“This money really changed our lives!”

Evelyn Casimir Milan.
